Brand Back Story

Ayre Manor offers four levels of affordable and comfortable seniors’ housing — independent living, assisted living, complex care and hospice — on a beautiful six-acre property in the centre of Sooke, which allows residents to stay in familiar surroundings as care needs change.

Strategy & Design

Based on the original logo design by now-retired local graphic designer Gaynor Gauthier, I expanded the brand design to a colour palette that includes key colours of calming teal and purple, plus accent colours of cheerful yellow and orange.

As we had to respect privacy, we could not use photos of residents, so I curated and selected appropriate stock photography that aligns with the messaging and content of Ayre Manor.

The result is that I designed a website that raises the organization’s profile with patients, families and the community. The website provides a large amount of content — including things like a Volunteer Manual — that is easy to navigate.

We designed and developed the original website in 2009, with an upgrade in 2020 to responsive design, making the website flex and viewable on mobile devices.
