Brand redesign and modern WordPress website raises Sooke seniors housing and care organization’s profile with patients, families, and the community.
Owned by Sooke Elderly Citizens’ Housing Society, Ayre Manor provides four levels of affordable, comfortable, and all-inclusive seniors’ housing and care on a beautiful six-acre property in the heart of Sooke.
Ayre Manor’s complete campus of care including independent living, assisted living, complex care, and hospice, allows Sooke residents to age in place as needs change, surrounded by friends, family, and community.
The Challenge
We designed and developed the original HTML/CSS website in 2009, with an upgrade in 2020 to mobile/responsive design. In 2026, it was time for a visual refresh, full content review, and migration to the WordPress content management system to provide modern responsive design functionality and empower the Ayre Manor team to make their own website updates.

Design Process
Based on the original logo design by retired local graphic designer Gaynor Gauthier, I expanded the brand design to a colour palette that includes calming blues and heron greys, with cheerful accent colours to differentiate the levels of care.
To respect residents’ privacy, I curated and selected appropriate stock imagery for the people photos that aligns with the messaging and content.
The result is that I designed a website that raises Ayre Manor’s profile with patients, families, and the community. The website provides a large amount of content — including things like a Volunteer Manual — in a way is easy to navigate.
I am really happy with our new website. It works to increase awareness of our facility and serve as public outreach for Ayre Manor and our managing non-profit, the Sooke Elderly Citizens’ Housing Society. Working with Caprina was a collaborative and professional experience. She communicated clearly, responded promptly, and helped guide us through the website development process, creating a website that reflects Ayre Manor well. As typically visiting our website is the first place any potential resident and their family goes to find information about our facility, her work on our website has a very important place in helping to shape the overall public image of Ayre Manor.
