Cycle of Life Tour is an annual two-day group cycling fundraiser for hospice care across Vancouver Island.
Cyclists pedal nearly 200km of smooth country road through Saanich, Cowichan Valley, and Salt Spring Island to raise critical funds for patients and families in need of compassionate end-of-life care. One of the projects of which I am most proud is Cycle of Life Tour, for which I designed the brand, print collateral, and rider gear since the very beginning. The elevated and cohesive brand design helps the event attract dedicated cyclists and national-brand sponsors year after year — fundraising over $3 million for hospice care across Vancouver Island since 2011.
Brand Backstory
COLT was founded in 2011 by Graham Robertson, who cycled 3600km roundtrip from Victoria to Anchorage, Alaska, in support of Victoria Hospice. With elevated branding in 2014, the tour was able to morph into a group ride and one year later, fundraising hit $100,000 in support of multiple hospice centres on Vancouver Island.
For 10 years now, 75 cyclists pedal nearly 200km of smooth country road through Saanich, Cowichan Valley and Salt Spring Island to raise critical funds for patients and families in need of compassionate end-of-life care.
COLT continues to grow every year. 2018 raised over $195,000 – a $60,000 increase from 2017. And in the biggest year yet, 2019 raised over $284,000, bringing the grand total of all years to almost one million.
UPDATE 2023: Cycle of Life Tour hit the $2 Million mark!
2024 raised $300K, bringing the total to $2.3 Million.
