Email with Gmail (Google Mail)
How to use Gmail with your own domain name
- Click the gear icon (top right) > Settings dropdown
- Click Accounts & Import tab
- To the right of Send Mail As, click Edit

- Click Add another email address you own
- A popup window will appear; enter your name (as you would like it to appear
in the "From" field
on emails) and your custom email address

- Deselect Treat as an alias (more
about this) if you're going to use this as your primary/only sending email
- Keep Treat as an alias selected if you're still using your email
account to send personal emails; your own domain address will
be a choice drop down when composing new messages;
replies will be automatic
- Click Next
Step
- SMTP: Keep the default radio button selected: Send through Gmail (easier
to set up); click Next Step
- Click Send Verification; copy and paste verification code into the text field;
click Verify
- Once it's added and verified, the popup will disappear and you will see the
newly created address added beside Send Mail As on the Settings page; you
may now click Make Default if you would like the account to primarily send
and receive using that name and address.
How to change your display name
- Click the gear icon (top right) > Settings dropdown
- Click Accounts & Import tab
- To the right of Send Mail As, click Edit

- Change display name from your name to your business/organization name
How to use Gmail with the Mac Mail app
- Configure your mail app to use Gmail via
IMAP (not POP3); this leaves the messages on the server and essentially "plugs
into" the
server as your email box
